She was working as a sales clerk there and tried her best to convince my friend Billy to buy a guitar. He wooed her with his charm and witty conversation and convinced her to leave work early and hang out with us a while. I think she wanted to persuade Billy to buy that guitar but Billy figured if he was able to pick her up without strumming any tunes then he didnt need the guitar to begin with.
